Meg, IJM Illinois Jr. Teen, was recently elected onto her school student council. During the process, Meg talked to her classmates, handed out stickers and reminded people of her slogan Meg Can Do It, which was modeled after the famous photo of Rosie the Riveter saying “ We Can Do It.” It was a great experience for Meg and it was even better when she found out she had won! Meg is looking forward to working with the board during her sophomore year!

Meg also volunteered at a St. Baldrick’s Fundraiser recently. During the event, there were raffles, collections, and even head shaving. Many people came to the event to have their head shaved in support of the fight against pediatric cancer. When Meg is older, she would like to be a pediatrician. Therefore this event was particularly meaningful because Meg had the chance to work with children.

Meg also recently had the amazing opportunity to make dresses for underprivileged girls. Stitching a Legacy has made over 100 dresses for girls in an orphanage in the Philippines but also for a local women’s shelter. Meg, personally helped to make over 20 dresses and actually sewed 5 dresses. Meg had a great time!
