Many times, our lives get so busy that we don't make time to visit the seniors in our communities. They truly enjoy when we come to visit and perform for them because due to physical or mental limitations, they can't leave their homes. I enjoyed spending this past Saturday afternoon with Seniors at the Sunrise Assisted Living Center in Crystal Lake, IL. I was able to spend some time not only visiting with and talking to the residents but I also had the chance to share my talents and we had the residents ask us questions which was a great way for me to practice Interview! It was especially touching when we were in the Alzheimers area and sang "You are my Sunshine". Residents that had not spoken the entire time we were there, all of a sudden broke out into song with us and had the best smiles on their faces. I literally started to cry, and its a moment I won't soon forget. - Meg Basco, Illinois International Junior Miss Jr. Teen
