Alanah, your reigning International Junior Miss Illinois Jr. Princess and her Mom recently met with the outreach ministry of Victory Apolstolic Church in Matteson, IL to offer assistance in their bi-weekly food distribution to the men and women currently residing at Pacific Garden Mission in Chicago, IL. PGM is a homeless shelter located in the South Loop.

On Easter Sunday, with the help of her Mom and Grandma, Alanah made 100 sandwiches to be distributed to the residents of PGM. Alanah's contribution helped to feed over 300 individuals who lined up this past wednesday to receive the food and other donations brought in by the Apostolic Church. Alanah loved being able to help and has commited to doing this at least once a month!

It doesn't matter how small you are, you CAN make a difference. Here is a quote from Alanah's mom Lisa:
"While it's nice to have a title, crown and banner, it's all meaningless if we do not ACT on them. Ths type of experience helps Alanah to understand that there are people in our community that do not have a place to call home and many times do not know where their next meal is coming from. Offering just a little of your time and resources can go a long way and mean so much to those in need"
How do you make a difference in your community? remember you don't need a crown and banner to make a difference, you just need YOU! #IJM #IJMCommunityService #Makeadifference #HowdoyouIJM
